Hip pain is disabling and can really get you down. Often there is something I can do to help. My patient feedback speaks for itself. If you want expert care, in the best facilities, you are in the right place.
James is a specialist hip surgeon performing the full range of hip treatments including hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, and other procedures around the hip. He is triple-fellowship trained, multi-award winning, with exceptional patient feedback. He is also the Editor in Chief of the Journal Hip International, which keeps him at the forefront of advances in the field of hip surgery.
James is married and has two children, and enjoys keeping fit by running, playing golf and the occasional cricket match. He understands how miserable and debilitating hip pain can be, and will help you get your life back.
My aim is to promptly offer you a consultation, listen carefully to you and your symptoms, arrange the necessary investigations, and offer you prompt treatment to get you the best possible recovery.
After listening to your symptoms, I will examine your hip and any other areas necessary. I have the full range of diagnostic services at your disposal to get to the cause of your symptoms. I can give advise and recommend physiotherapy if necessary. The two most operations I perform are:
Hip arthroscopy is a day case procedure for treating femoroacetabular impingement using key holes on the outside of your hip. Extensive reshaping of abnormal bone around your hip and repairs of the labrum are performed.
If you have arthritis which is not being controlled with simple measures, a hip replacement will help eradicate your pain. There are a range of hip replacements which I perform, tailored to the individual needs of each patient. 90% of patients are happy with the results of surgery.
.... all hip replacements are meticulously planned using advanced computer software. Your leg lengths, offset and centre of rotation will be restored to their original positions, giving you the best possible outcome following your hip replacement.
The image on the left shows the before surgery X-ray with the planned placement of the hip replacement.
The image on the right is taken after surgery X-ray and shows perfect delivery of the planned surgery.
.... is a totally pain free hip, and a patient who can enjoy walking, working, skiing and tennis again.
